Text messages (GigTools Alerts)

The text messages GigTools sends, how people sign up for them, and how to stop them.

GigTools is booking and scheduling software for live performers, public speakers and the organizations that book them. It is owned and operated by GigTools, LLC. This page describes the text messages GigTools sends, called GigTools Alerts.

What we send

GigTools Alerts are transactional text messages about gigs and work in GigTools. We don't send marketing or promotional texts.

  • Day-before gig reminders to performers: the date, show time, venue, arrival time and day-of contact for a booked performance.
  • Alerts for GigTools users about their own account: new or changed tasks, changes to their booked gigs, new booking inquiries, and flight delays for travel to a gig.
  • Occasional service messages from GigTools support about the user's account.

Messages come from our registered number and start with the name of the organization or "GigTools".

How people sign up (opt-in)

GigTools users turn on text alerts themselves in the GigTools web app, at Settings › My settings (app.gigtools.net), by entering their mobile number and choosing which alerts they want by text. Next to the setting, the app shows:

Texts are GigTools Alerts about your gigs and tasks. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help or STOP to any text to stop them. See Terms and Privacy.

Performers receive day-before reminders only from an organization that booked them, and only at the mobile number the performer gave that organization for coordinating the booking. Organizations agree in our Terms of Use to text only performers who gave them their number for this purpose. Every reminder ends with "Reply STOP to opt out," and organizations can mark a performer "don't text."

Mobile numbers are never bought, rented or collected from third parties.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies with a person's bookings and tasks, typically a few messages a week. Message and data rates may apply.

How to stop or get help

  • Reply STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE) to any message to stop receiving texts. You'll receive one confirmation and no further messages.
  • Reply HELP for help, or email support@gigtools.net (contact us).
  • GigTools users can also turn texts off at any time in Settings › My settings.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

We use mobile numbers only to send GigTools Alerts. We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the text messaging providers that deliver the messages. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
