Run your comedy club from one system.
Book the talent, sell the seats, run the door and fill the room. GigTools for Venues puts the booking side and the box office side of a comedy club or small theater in one place.
Booking in one place, tickets in another, the lineup on a whiteboard.
A week of shows, one booking
A headliner, feature and MC across eight shows, plus the condo, the flights and a run sheet for every night.
Tickets that don't talk to talent
Your ticketing site knows what sold. It doesn't know who was on the bill, what they cost or how they drew last time.
Empty seats on a Tuesday
You know who came last month, but you have no easy way to tell them who's on this week.
Book the talent
Every show starts as a booking. Put a date on hold, send the comic or their agent a deal memo to accept online, and book a whole comedy week (headliner, feature and MC across every show) in one step. Change a night or add a late show without starting over. Each act's record at your club shows every show they've done in your rooms, with tickets sold, ticket money and spend per head, plus your team's private star ratings and notes.
Comics who travel get a proper advance: the condo or hotel you're putting them in, their flights and the run sheet, all on one page. GigTools warns you before two comics are booked into the same condo on the same night.
Sell the seats
Set up ticket types once and copy them to the rest of the week. Raise prices as a show sells, hide a ticket type behind a code, sell passes for a weekly show, and seat parties together at cabaret tables, bar counters and accessible seats on a floor plan buyers can pick from. Your shows appear with Buy tickets buttons on your GigTools website, and the same calendar can go on the website you already have with one piece of code.
Ticket money is paid by card through your own Stripe account. Add a notice like "Two-drink minimum" to checkout, the tickets and the confirmation email, so nobody is surprised at the table.
Run the night
The Venue dashboard shows tonight at a glance: each show with its sales, comps and check-ins, the week ahead, and the dates on hold. The box office keeps a live headcount by room, sells to walk-ins by cash or card, finds a buyer by name and prints will-call. The door scans QR codes from a phone. Print the run sheet for the booth, and check who's working the door, the bar and the floor tonight.
Fill the room
Everyone who buys a ticket becomes a patron, with their visits, spend, favorite comics, tags and birthday. Announce a show to the people most likely to come, send a weekly "this week at the club" email, and let anyone unsubscribe in one click. Promote each show with ready-made social posts, and run open mic sign-up lists, first come or by lottery, with a waitlist and bringer counts.
Keep them coming back
Sell memberships that renew by themselves each month or year, with a percent off tickets, free tickets each year, early access to presales and no ticket fees. Members get a card with their code, and their own page to manage it. Sell season tickets with the same seats at every show, let subscribers swap a night they can't make, and hold their seats for renewal next season. Flex packs are a code good for any show. Take donations on your giving page or at ticket checkout, run campaigns with a goal, and send numbered receipts (tax receipts for nonprofits) and a yearly summary.
Run the building
Bring in each night's food and drink sales from your POS, track drink minimums and sell prepaid drink credit. Schedule door, bar, servers, sound and light, and hosts by show night, send shift reminders by text, and export hours for payroll. Turn rental inquiries into proposals with menus and packages, take deposits, send the contract to sign and hand your staff an event order sheet. Venue reports show attendance and sell-through by night, room, headliner and day of the week, food and drink per head, comps, and each show's profit across the month and year over year.
Already booking acts?
GigTools started as gig management for performers and the agents who book them, so the deal side is built in: holds and hold challenges, deal memos, settlement sheets signed by the venue and the act, insurance certificates and an audit trail. If you run a booking agency and a room, add the Venue add-on to your Agency plan. See Venue pricing, or talk to us about your rooms.
Questions from comedy clubs & venues
Who is GigTools for Venues for?
Comedy clubs and theaters that book their own talent and sell their own tickets. Larger theaters get memberships, season tickets, flex packs and donations with tax receipts too.
How much does the Venue plan cost?
$149 a month, or $1,488 a year, with one room and five users included and a 30-day free trial. Each extra room is $50 a month.
Can GigTools sell my tickets?
Yes. Sell tickets and reserved or cabaret seats online, with buyers paying by card through your own Stripe account. On the Venue plan the GigTools fee is $1 a ticket, paid by the buyer at checkout or out of the ticket price, your choice. Cash sales at the door have no GigTools fee.
Do I have to replace my POS?
No. Keep Square, Toast or whatever you use. Bring each night's food and drink sales into GigTools from a spreadsheet export, or type them in, so they count toward per-head spend and each show's numbers. A direct Square and Toast connection is coming.
We're a booking agency that also runs a room. Do we need two plans?
No. Add the Venue add-on ($79 a month) to your Agency plan under Plan & billing, and the venue menu, rooms and box office sit alongside your roster.
Can comics see how we rated their shows?
No. Show ratings and notes are private to your team. They sit on the act's record at your club with tickets sold, ticket money and spend per head, so you know how they drew the next time you book them.
